Newly-pitched county jail would free up 8 acres of Downtown Memphis if built

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Broken doors, plumbing problems and dangerous living conditions could be a thing of the past if the Shelby County Jail gets a new address.

New renderings have been released showing what a new Criminal Justice Center could look like on 71 acres in North Memphis at the old Firestone property.

Action News 5 talked with former City Councilman Kemp Conrad, who is the real estate advisor on this project.
