MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A new transitional house is open in Shelby County to provide immediate housing and resources for those reentering society after incarceration.
The “Redemption House,” located next to the Shelby County Office of Re-Entry on Mississippi Boulevard, marks the first-ever transitional housing project launched by the Shelby County Government.
“For the first time in its history, Shelby County Government is opening up its own transitional house,” said Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris. “By embracing this innovation, we can support solutions that improve public safety, recidivism rates, and stable housing.
