MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WKRC) – A man allegedly shot his wife and drove her to the hospital, but made a quick stop on the way to grab a beer.
According to information from the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office obtained by Law&Crime, 51-year-old Decarlo Pitchford and his wife got into an argument at their home on July 19. The dispute allegedly became so heated that the woman attempted to leave, but Pitchford blocked her from leaving the house.
As the fight climaxed, Pitchford allegedly shot his wife in the abdomen, per a criminal affidavit obtained by Law&Crime. The wife allegedly told police that the shooting was “intentional, despite the suspect claiming it was an accident.” Specifically, Pitchford claimed “his gun was jammed and he was trying to clear it, and it went off, accidentally shooting his wife,” per the affidavit…
