Nearly 200 students from Ghana to remain at University of Memphis after $1M payment

MEMPHIS, Tenn.- Nearly 200 students from Ghana will be allowed to remain at the University of Memphis (UofM) due to a partial payment from the Republic of Ghana.

The UofM said that the college received a $1 million payment from the Republic of Ghana. That money doesn’t cover the country’s full outstanding balance, but it is enough to allow 185 students to continue living on campus at the university.

“We remain hopeful that the Republic of Ghana will meet its debt obligations to ensure the students will be able to continue their education through the fall semester,” a spokesperson for the UofM told FOX13…
