Vehicles that hit utility poles cost MLGW approx. $600K in repairs each month

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A crash that caused utility lines to fall Monday afternoon has left approximately 500 Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW) customers without power.

MLGW originally reported that power was restored just before 5 p.m., but recanted that statement about an hour later, saying power remains out.

MLGW reports that a vehicle hit a pole on Airways Boulevard near Ketchum Road in the Imogene Heights neighborhood, bringing down wires and a second pole.

“It is going to require a good bit of work,” a utility spokesperson told Action News 5…
