Memphis Police Seek Public’s Help in Tracking Down Suspect and Recovering Property After Trailer Theft at McAlister’s Deli

Memphis police are seeking information after a trailer theft incident that occurred earlier this month at McAlister’s Deli on Trinity Road. According to a report by the Memphis Police Department, the theft was reported on August 2 and occurred at approximately 9:00 p.m. The stolen utility trailer was loaded with a yellow Club Cadet riding lawn mower, a Workhorse sprayer, and a ladder, items of considerable value for any individual or small business relying on such equipment.

Surveillance footage from the scene has provided some leads in the case. It recorded an older model silver GMC Yukon, with distinctive 24-inch wheels, pulling up to the scene at about 8:01 p.m., right before the trailer vanished. The individual involved is seen exiting the SUV, detaching the trailer from the victim’s truck, and attaching it to their own vehicle. Then, making a turn for the southbound Germantown Parkway, the Yukon made its escape, taking with it the labor and livelihood encapsulated in the trailer it towed behind.

The Memphis Police Department is asking for the public’s help with any information that could lead to the suspect or the recovery of the stolen property. According to the official statement, “Anyone with information about this incident should call Crime Stoppers 901-528-CASH (2274).” This plea underscores the importance of community assistance in resolving such crimes, a collaborative hope that someone, somewhere, may have seen something that could knit back together the continuity of justice…
