Community activist, MSCS critic charged with violating order of protection

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A well-known community activist and frequent critic of Memphis-Shelby County Schools is facing a misdemeanor charge for allegedly violating an order of protection filed by MSCS board member Stephanie Love, according to police and court records.

Damon Curry Morris, 47, was arrested Tuesday evening after Love reported seeing him at her place of employment despite having an active order of protection against him.

Officers say they responded to the Board of Education building at 160 Glenn Rogers Senior Street around 7:20 p.m.
