Five of 9 MATA board members resign after City of Memphis cancels CEO interviews

Five out of nine members on the Memphis Area Transit Authority resigned Aug. 28.

The city accepted the resignations several days after city officials announced they were extending MATA’s search for a new CEO, citing a small pool of candidates.

“The City of Memphis believes the current candidate pool is too narrow to move forward in good faith,” according to a statement from the city of Memphis. “While the process began with six finalists, three withdrew during the search, leaving only three remaining candidates.”…
