MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis inmate already facing serious charges is now accused of two separate violent incidents while in custody, including an attack on a corrections officer.
21-year-old Quinton McNeil has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and bringing contraband into a penal institution after investigators say he stabbed another inmate in April, then stabbed a Shelby County corrections officer in June at the Shelby County Jail.
According to police report, the April 12 incident happened at the jail’s Juliet Alpha Dorm. An officer reported hearing screams and banging from a cell, where McNeil was found with another inmate who had been stabbed in the head multiple times with a makeshift weapon.
