Man in jail after $66K theft scheme from Regions Bank

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is in custody after being accused of stealing over $66,000 from Regions Bank, according to the Memphis Police Department.

Tyrone Clark, 33, is charged with theft of property of $10,000 to $60,000.

MPD says an employee at Regions Bank filed a theft report on behalf of the bank, and told officers on April 19, 2024, Clark deposited a $28,000 check into his account.

Police say he then transferred the funds into a separate Regions account, but the check was returned for insufficient funds, and his account was now in the negative…
