MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Shelby County commission committee members are recommending to remove the New Chicago area from consideration for a new jail location after weeks of hearing residents bash the idea.
During Wednesday’s Law Enforcement, Corrections and Courts committee, Shelby County Commissioner Henri E. Brooks expressed the importance of people’s engagement and feedback when making significant changes to communities.
