MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A national nonprofit says it has purchased a mortgage-free home in Cordova for the family of fallen Memphis Police Department Officer Demetrice Johnson.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation made the announcement Thursday to commemorate the 24th anniversary of September 11.
“Knowing the risks, Officer Johnson decided to serve his community,” said Tunnel to Towers Chairman and CEO Frank Siller. “He lost his life in the line of duty, and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is proud to honor his memory and sacrifice by providing a forever home to the family he left behind.”
