Nashville Man Bert Watkins Charged in Shooting Involving His Daughter, Linked to Stolen Firearm from Memphis

Bert Watkins, 45, was arrested in connection with a September 1 shooting that injured his 16-year-old daughter, Nashville police said. Detectives from the TITANS Unit took him into custody. Watkins is charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, theft of a firearm, and possession of a weapon as a felon, according to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

A woman was shot in the hand during a dispute on Sylvan Street at South 6th Street, police said. The victim told officers her father, identified as Watkins, pulled a gun during an altercation with a 29-year-old man. The man later went to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with a head injury, saying Watkins struck him with a pistol.
