Man accused of fleeing police, nearly hitting pedestrians

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was accused of driving away from police after he was pulled over and almost hit pedestrians with his car on Saturday.

Tervellious Jacques Hancock, 35, has been charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance, not obeying traffic control signals, reckless driving, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, and driving without headlights on.

Police say Hancock was driving his Nissan Altima with his headlights off and ran a light at the intersection of Front Street and Floyd Alley.

Officers initiated a traffic stop, and that’s when they said Hancock came to a complete stop, got out of his car, and asked why they were pulling him over…
