Bystander tries to stop man dragging woman out of gas station by her feet

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is accused of kidnapping and beating his ex-girlfriend and dragging her out of a north Memphis gas station by her feet when she tried to escape.

Demarcus Perry, 31, is booked in the Shelby County Jail on a $75,000 bond on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, and domestic assault.

According to police, Perry drove to his ex-girlfriend’s home on Stafford Avenue, brought up a past incident, began punching his ex, and forced her into his car.

Investigators said Perry is a locksmith and got a call about a job, and decided to take his ex-girlfriend with him…
