WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. — West Memphis, Arkansas, authorities are preparing for a potential crime surge after a police pursuit was initiated by the Arkansas State Police overnight and the announcement of National Guard deployment in Memphis.
Overnight, there was a heavy law enforcement presence, with at least a dozen officers, troopers, and deputies from Tennessee and Arkansas joining forces for an incident that ended along the interstate.
Coming in to help were other officers from other agencies.
