Man Accused of Threatening to Kill Jonesboro Woman in Phone Calls

JONESBORO, Ark. — A man is accused of threatening to kill a woman in a series of phone calls in May, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Detective Madison Dobbs wrote that on May 26, Marcus Bernard Gibson, 35, of West Memphis, allegedly called the victim nine times in a row from a blocked number. During one of the calls, which the victim recorded, Gibson allegedly screamed, cursed, and threatened to kill her if police or others came after him.

Prosecutors have accused Gibson of first-degree terroristic threatening, a Class D felony, and misdemeanor harassing communications. He was arrested on Sept. 18, jail records show…
