Couple that was accused of setting woman’s car on fire, caught with counterfeit VIN stickers, stolen vehicles: MPD

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A couple that was facing attempted second-degree murder charges has been arrested again after police say they found counterfeit VIN stickers and several stolen cars at a Cordova home.

MPD said the vehicles, stolen over four years in Memphis and Los Angeles, were parked in the driveway and garage of the house in the 2600 block of Davies Plantation Road.

Investigators said Jessica Rios, 39, told officers she lived at the residence, and she was charged with three counts of theft of property and three counts of altering motor vehicle serial numbers.

Travis Davison, 44, who claimed to be Rios’s boyfriend, was charged with three counts of theft of property and two counts of altering a motor vehicle serial number. He was also charged with possession of drugs and being a convicted felon in possession of a weapon…
