The Germantown Police Department (GPD) has reported a series of crimes occurring throughout the week, highlighting a variety of unlawful activities from online scams to the unsettling trend of vehicles being burglarized. Despite the varied nature of the incidents, the reports emphasize a concerning frequency of shoplifting cases across several blocks of Poplar Avenue.
According to a public notice released by the GPD, on Friday, September 12, incidents included an online scam originating from South Spring Hollow Lane and a narcotics arrest on Poplar Avenue. That same day, reports of shoplifting occurred just blocks apart on Poplar Avenue.
The weekend reports began on September 13 with the unauthorized use of a dumpster, and escalated to multiple occurrences of shoplifting, resulting in an arrest.
