Myron Lowery, long-time Memphis public servant, dies

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Myron Lowery, who dedicated more than 30 years to public service, has died, according to the Shelby Co. Board of Commissioners.

Lowery was a longtime public servant of Memphis, in addition to being a father, husband, grandfather, mentor, and civic leader.

A veteran member, and later chair of the Memphis City Council, he also served Memphis as Mayor Pro Tem in 2009. Most recently, he served as Memphis City Court Clerk from 2020 to 2024.
