Memphis man killed, two injured after SUV overturns near New Madrid

A Memphis man was killed and two others were injured Saturday afternoon in a rollover crash on Interstate 55 near the 62-mile marker in New Madrid County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 5:10 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2025, when a northbound 2002 Toyota Sequoia ran off the right side of the roadway. The driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to travel off the left side of the road, strike a cable barrier, and overturn.

A 35-year-old man from Memphis, Tennessee, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by New Madrid County Coroner George DeLisle at 5:46 p.m…
