MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – The United States Department of Justice released data Tuesday showing 386 arrests so far as the Memphis Safe Task Force continues its surge operations, but questions remain about whether this approach can sustain long-term crime reduction in the city.
According to Memphis Police Chief CJ Davis, crime overall is trending down to historic levels. She backed up her claims during Tuesday’s City Council meeting.
