Teen charged after making social media threat towards school, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – An Instagram post led to a police interrogation for a 15-year-old Memphis student.

The Memphis Police Department (MPD) said the principal of Hamilton High School told officers that they learned from a student that another student had made an Instagram post showing someone pointing a gun out of a car toward the school.

That student told officers that it wasn’t a picture of him, saying the picture was of a deceased friend of his. According to MPD, the student said that he didn’t have any other picture of his former classmate to post as a tribute…
