HERNANDO, Miss. — The DeSoto County School Board says in a letter to parents that an embattled fellow school board member won’t resign following a controversial letter of support for a sex offender.
The board called a special meeting Friday afternoon to discuss potential litigation. There was no audience present at the meeting Friday. The board immediately went into executive session.
The agenda for the meeting was not released, but it comes a day after protesters packed a school board meeting demanding action against a board member who wrote a letter of support for a former coach and youth minister who pleaded guilty sexual battery of a child on Monday.
