This Day in History: Manatee spotted in Mississippi River

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – On this day, a manatee that traveled 720 miles up the Mississippi River was spotted in Memphis.

The manatee disappeared a few days later and wasn’t seen again until its body was found in December.
