Tennessee’s low-income energy assistance program going virtual

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Changes are coming to the way low-income Tennessee residents can receive help paying their utility bills.

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), administered locally by the Shelby County Community Services Agency (CSA), will move to a new online system beginning November 3.

After that, applications will only be accepted electronically, and there will no longer be an option for walk-in or in-person visits…
