City of Memphis public safety advisor and fire chief resign

Two City of Memphis officials resigned this week, according to the city’s chief communications officer.

Memphis Fire Chief Gina Sweat and Darren Goods, the city’s public safety advisor, will no longer work in those positions. It is not clear who will be named to replace Sweat and Goods.

Goods was named to the role in April this year. A former colonel with the Memphis Police Department, Goods also served as deputy commissioners of juvenile justice for the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services before his role with the city…
