Thousands in Mid-South prepare for SNAP shutdown

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Thousands of Mid-South families are looking for food, as they prepare to go without their SNAP benefits.

As the government shutdown continues, local non-profits and churches are lending a helping hand.

With ICE and the Memphis Safe Task Force in Memphis, organizers say they’ve had to deliver food because families are afraid to leave their homes, regardless of their legal statuses.
