Church empowers cancer, domestic violence survivors with makeovers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Hairstylists, makeup artists, and other professionals volunteered their time to give makeovers to women who have overcome adversity.

The Celebration of Survivors event happened at the Citadel of Deliverance Church and was aimed at lifting up women in the community.

“At the same time they are going through their own personal storms as it relates to breast cancer, domestic violence, pregnancy and infant loss and we just wanted them to know that we see them, we feel them, we appreciate them and we love them,” explained Stephanie Dillard, who organized the event.

At the church all Saturday afternoon celebrity stylists were in attendance to give completely free makeovers to women who have survived breast cancer, domestic violence and infant mortality loss…
