Memphis man sentenced to 20 years, after stealing $100k of guns, jewelry

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis man was sentenced to 20 years in prison after being convicted of stealing $100,000 worth of guns and jewelry from a Southaven, Miss. business.

The DeSoto County District Attorney’s Office announced the conviction of 24-year-old Guyland Key of grand larceny and burglary of a non-dwelling in connection with the theft from Guns & Fine Jewelry in Southaven.

Key was sentenced to 20 years at the Mississippi Department of Corrections for grand larceny, and an additional seven years of probation for burglary of a non-dwelling.

“I want to thank the Southaven Police Department for a very thorough investigation in this case,” said Assistant District Attorney Gordon Shaw. “Because of their exceptional police work, we secured a conviction and another dangerous criminal is behind bars. Let this be a loud and clear message: if you think you can come into DeSoto County and steal from our businesses, you are going to prison.”…
