Suspect shot by agents in Cordova hit with federal charges

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A suspect is now facing federal charges, according to the United States Attorney’s Office of the Western District of Tennessee.

The attorney’s office announced that Marquis Davis, 18, was federally charged with business robbery and the discharge of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.

Davis was already charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder, Aggravated Robbery, and Employment of a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony after allegedly shooting an employee at Exotic Smoke Shop in Cordova last Friday.

The robbery led to a large scene involving several agencies in front of the Corky’s in Cordova, where Davis was shot and taken into custody by authorities.
