Task force nabs murder suspect, another charged with assault

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Safe Task Force arrested a man wanted for murder and another man for an aggravated assault on Tuesday.

At around 9 p.m., task force members took Kamari West, 21, into custody for first-degree murder.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, they saw West at his house and knocked on the door, and announced they were there to arrest him.

Agents said West attempted to flee, but once he saw officers, he stopped and was taken into custody. He was wanted for the murder of Jaden Echols in March in Hickory Hill.
