MEMPHIS, Tenn. – More than 1,500 warnings were issued during the first month of operation for the Memphis Police Department’s (MPD) speed limit cameras.
MPD put up 30 speed limit cameras at 15 locations at the end of September. The police department allowed a grace period between September 30 and October 30, issuing warnings instead of tickets to drivers who were recorded speeding.
