Copper thief caught in the act by Memphis Police

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was caught stealing copper and arrested by Memphis police early Monday morning.

Mark Meetze, 53, was charged with Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, and Theft of Property $1,000-$2,500 to wit copper utility lines, and Possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers said while they were on patrol on Monday, they heard the sound of a saw and began investigating.

MPD said officers located and arrested Meetze, who was caught stealing copper.
