‘The world is watching’: Deputy Governor announces $157M project, speaks on future of Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Deputy Gov. and Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter announced a new million-dollar project that is projected to bring hundreds of jobs to the area.

During the press event, it was announced that South Korean manufacturing firm, Hysung Hico, will be building a $157 million project that will bring over 240 jobs to Memphis.

The facility was purchased back in 2019, with millions of dollars going into renovating the plant…
