MPD: Shoplifters put meat in pants, pull gun on security guard

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police say a trio of shoplifters left a grocery store with at least $200 worth of meat stuffed in their pants and threatened a female security guard who tried to stop them.

Deaundre Malone, 18, and Angela Malone, 30, were booked in Shelby County on Thursday for theft of property $1,000 and aggravated assault: acting in concert, three months after the alleged incident at the Superlo Foods on Quince Road.

A security guard at the grocery store said she saw two men and a woman concealing merchandise in their waistbands, followed them to the parking lot, and asked them to return the items.

She said that’s when she saw one of the men pull out a silver handgun, point it at her, and tell her to “go about her business.”…
