Nearly 3,000 arrests made since creation of Memphis Safe Task Force, U.S. Marshals say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Almost 3,000 arrests have been made since the creation of the Memphis Safe Task Force, according to the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS).

In addition to making 2,943 arrests — including the arrests of 313 gang members — the task force seized 482 firearms and found 116 missing children as of November 20, according to the USMS.

A Nashville judge ruled Monday, November 17, to temporarily block Governor Bill Lee’s deployment of the Tennessee National Guard, which is meant to supply support to the federal task force, to Memphis. The State of Tennessee is seeking permission to appeal the judge’s decision…
