MEMPHIS, Tenn. – FOX13 obtained new footage showing the shocking moments gunfire erupted during a deadly shooting earlier this week at the Wolfchase Galleria mall.
Yahir Mejia, 22, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the shooting, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD).
According to an affidavit, Mejia told investigators that he shot a man — later identified as Erik Sandoval — in self-defense. The shooting was reported around 2 p.m. Monday. New video obtained by FOX13 sheds light on what happened before the shooting.
