Man shoots co-worker over shoes, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police say a man tracked down a co-worker and shot him twice in the chest because he believed he had stolen a pair of his shoes.

Derrick Eure, 33, was charged with attempted first-degree murder and is being held on a $400,000 bond.

Police said the victim was sitting in a car with his girlfriend on Rozelle Street on Monday when someone started firing into the vehicle. The girlfriend drove her boyfriend to a fire station on Elvis Presley Boulevard and told police she recognized Eure as the shooter.

The girlfriend said she, her boyfriend, and Eure all worked for the same catering business, and two days earlier at work, Eure had accused her boyfriend of stealing his shoes. She said Eure told her and two other employees he was going to kill her boyfriend…
