Memphis Father Sentenced After Killing Newborn Daughter and Her Mother Hours After Hospital Release

Memphis, Tennessee – A Memphis man has been sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison for murdering his newborn daughter and her mother in what prosecutors described as one of the most “heinous” crimes the community has ever witnessed. The killings happened just hours after the mother and baby were discharged from the hospital.

Overview of the Deadly Incident

According to the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office, Brandon Isabelle, 28, received consecutive sentences totaling 51 years for killing 27-year-old Danielle Hoyle and her newborn daughter, Kennedy Hoyle. In addition, he received 45 years for aggravated child neglect and especially aggravated kidnapping.

Prosecutors said the additional 22.5-year sentences were symbolic — one year for every hour baby Kennedy lived.

The tragic timeline began on January 30, 2022, when Isabelle learned that Hoyle had gone into labor. Although he went to the hospital, prosecutors say he was simultaneously texting another woman, trying desperately to protect a relationship he feared losing.

Relationship Background and Motive

Isabelle and Hoyle had previously worked together at FedEx, and a brief relationship resulted in Danielle becoming pregnant. However, Isabelle had since started a new relationship with another woman, who also worked at FedEx.
