Memphis Man Charged with First-Degree Murder in 2024 Shelby County Homicide; Arrested in Nebraska Awaiting Extradition

Memphis authorities have made a pivotal arrest in connection with a 2024 Shelby County homicide. Nigel Farmer, age 30, stands accused of first-degree murder following an extensive year-long investigation by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, which responded to a shooting on October 29, 2024, that left a 31-year-old woman dead from a gunshot wound at the scene located in the 7800 block of Shadowland Cove.

The Memphis Safe Task Force, together with other agencies, worked relentlessly to track down Farmer. He was finally apprehended on November 19, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska by the U.S. Marshals Service Metro Fugitive Task Force.
