WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. β A driver who hit speeds of more than 140 mph on Interstate 40 fled an Arkansas State Police trooper before abandoning the vehicle in Memphis, according to an ASP narrative.
On Oct. 17, 2025, Trooper Gunner Fultz reported he was stationary near the 283-mile marker on I-40 when he saw a black Dodge Charger traveling βat a high rate of speed.β Fultz confirmed using rear-facing radar that the driver was going 90 mph in a 65-mph zone.
Fultz attempted a traffic stop, but the driver did not pull over, the report said. Instead, the Charger accelerated to more than 140 mph and used the shoulder to pass other vehicles…
