New landscaping crew of goats arrive at Shelby Farms Park

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Shelby Farms Park officials announced their newest, hardworking “landscape crew” of goats have begun work this week.

Park officials say they will help clear overgrown brush and invasive plants in addition to keeping the park beautiful for visitors.

When the goats aren’t on the job at Shelby Farms Park, they call Queen D’s Farm and Bees home, which is also cares for honeybees, chickens, llamas, and alpacas.

According to park officials, the goat crew will be seen in the buffalo pasture, where they “get along with our herd just fine.”

Officials say this project helps restore native habitats, promote healthy ecosystems and is an alternative to machinery or chemical herbicides…
