MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A dog was left injured after police say they escaped the backyard and was shot by a neighbor in East Memphis on Friday.
Officers say they initially responded to a vandalism/misdemeanor call in the 4600 block of Amboy Road just before noon. They then say they met the victim in the 6300 block of Poplar Avenue.
The victim told police that he was in his home when he heard four gunshots. When he walked outside, he said he saw his dog visibly injured, along with the neighbor who was walking their own dog.
