Tennessee–Arkansas–Mississippi Ice Storm Alert: Wintry Weather Mix to Glaze I-40 Monday Night

Memphis, TN – The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a Winter Weather Advisory beginning 6 p.m. Monday through 6 a.m. Tuesday for portions of Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi, as a wintry mix is expected to create slick and hazardous road conditions across the Mid-South.

Forecasters warn that a light glaze of ice could develop on roads, bridges, and sidewalks, particularly along and north of Interstate 40, as freezing rain and sleet move in Monday evening. Areas west of the Mississippi River, including Jonesboro, West Memphis, Blytheville, and eastern Arkansas, have the highest potential for ice accumulations near 0.01 to 0.05 inches.
