Memphis caregiver charged with abuse of a patient

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis caregiver employed at a group home was arrested after allegedly abusing a vulnerable male adult.

Queen Ester Reese, 74, was booked into the Shelby County Jail on a $2,500 bond December 2.

Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Medicaid Fraud Control Division began investigating Reese in November after receiving information from Adult Protective Services.

During the investigation, agents said they concluded that Reese was responsible for the physical and emotional abuse of the victim in her care, who was a TennCare patient.

Reese has been released from jail after posting bail. She is expected to appear in court Thursday at 9 a.m…
