2 men arrested for gun charges, including one who shot into ex-girlfriend’s car, Memphis task force says

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Safe Task Force (MSTF) arrested two men Wednesday on separate felon-in-possession cases, officials said.

MSTF officials said they arrested Carlos Johnson just after noon at an apartment complex in Millington on an aggravated assault and felon-in-possession warrant issued out of Shelby County. The charges stem from a Jan. 31 incident in the 3700 block of Wolf Trail Drive, where Johnson is accused of shooting into a car operated by his ex-girlfriend. MSTF officers served a search warrant and recovered two firearms at his residence, officials said.

Officials said MSTF officers also arrested Gavriel Borders on a felon-in-possession warrant during a traffic stop at 3:15 p.m. on Pennsylvania Avenue. Officers recovered a stolen handgun as well as drugs from the car…
