MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 17-year-old student is recovering after a shooting near Overton High School left him in critical condition Friday morning. Now, parents say they’re concerned and want answers about safety and communication.
The gunfire erupted just off campus, in a park many students walk through every day. Memphis Police said officers were called to reports of shots fired just after 11 a.m. at a park near Overton High School, in the 4800 block of Willow Road.
The victim, a 17-year-old male student, was shot in the chest. He was rushed to Regional One in critical condition, and police say he has since been upgraded to stable…
