MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said it is attempting to locate a convicted rapist after he was released on Wednesday due to an IT error.
According to SCSO, Cameron Brooks was released from 201 Poplar on Wednesday after a court appearance on Tuesday, where a 2022 aggravated rape charge was dismissed.
SCSO said another charge of aggravated rape was still pending, which he pleaded guilty to.
