Burglars break into same home twice, bust holes into ceiling to avoid security cameras, MPD says

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Police are looking for burglars who stole thousands of dollars in cash from a Memphis home earlier this year and months later “busted holes” into its ceiling to avoid being on camera during a second break-in.

According to the Memphis Police Department, officers responded to a burglary on June 4 at a home on the 9000 block of Johnson Street. They arrived to learn that burglars “forced” their way inside and stole $32,000 in “cash and property.”

Officers were told that a man was seen on a Ring camera knocking on the door of the home and returning “several times” after the resident had left, MPD said…
